Do you want to start recycling but don’t have time to take your materials to a local recycling center? Abe’s Trash can help! It’s not easy to find time for recycling, which is why our recycling pickup service is perfect for busy families in Omaha who are looking to help the environment.

Abe’s Trash Service, Inc. is the longest-running trash company in Omaha. Don’t let our name fool you; we are proud to offer curbside recycling pickup as well as waste management. We understand there isn’t always time to fit recycling into your busy schedule. That’s why we provide convenient residential recycling pickup services and single-stream recycling, helping you balance your environmental goals with your time and budget. Residential recycling is easy and convenient when you choose to partner with Abe’s Trash Service.

What is Single-Stream Residential Recycling?

Recycling used to require sorting your plastic, paper, and other materials into separate bins before dropping them off or having them picked up. With single stream recycling pickup, all of your paper, plastics, metals, and other recyclable materials are placed in the same bin and later sorted by the depositor—not you. There’s no more worrying about sorting recyclables into different materials with our easy single-stream residential recycling service.

Not only does this make recycling more convenient for you, but it also lowers collection costs. With recycling now as simple as throwing out the trash—you simply put them in a pickup recycling bin and place the bin by your curb—it’s easier than ever for you and your family to make your lifestyle more sustainable!

In addition to saving the planet, you can also save room in your garbage collection bin by putting all recyclable materials into the recycling bin.

Reduce Your Impact On The Environment With A Recycling Service

Abe’s Trash convenient recycling pickup and trash removal services enable you to do your part to reduce your impact on the environment and divert more trash from going to landfills All recyclable material must be placed inside of the provided 95 gallon cart.

Single-Stream Recycling Pickup

Rather than throwing recyclable materials in with the trash, simply put them in a pickup recycling bin and place the bin by your curb on your recycling collection day. No more worrying about sorting recyclables into different materials with our easy single-stream residential recycling service.

What Should Go in Your Residential Recycling Bin?

Even though single-stream recycling makes it easy and convenient to do your part in responsible resource conservation, you’ll still want to be mindful of what you can and can’t recycle. First, you’ll want to make sure you’re using an 18-gallon bin or a 95-gallon curbside recycling cart. We’ve provided a list of acceptable and non-acceptable recyclables below to take the guesswork out of recycling. Print out this list and hang it above your recycling bins for an even better reminder.

Acceptable Recyclables:

  • Aluminum and tin (please rinse containers).
  • Aerosol cans and paint cans (must be empty).
  • Paper: newspaper, magazines, brown grocery bags, telephone books, catalogs, office paper, envelopes, cereal boxes, beverage boxes, frozen food packages, and juice boxes.
  • Cardboard: clean corrugated cardboard boxes or shipping boxes under the bin. Break down or cut the boxes so they are flat.
  • Plastic: Rinse out containers. We accept numbers 1 through 7 plastic containers, such as plastic bottles and jugs. To find the number, look at the bottom of the container for the recycling symbol with numbers 1 to 7.

Non-Acceptable Recyclables:

    • Glass
    • Styrofoam
    • Plastic Bags
    • Soiled Paper
    • Tissue Paper
    • Paper Towels
    • Wax Coated Paper
    • Pizza Boxes

  • OUR RECYCLING PICKUP SERVICES LAST YEAR HELPED KEEP 35 MILLION POUNDS OF MATERIAL OUT OF THE LANDFILL!
  • Why Should You Sign Up For Recycling Pickup?

Together, we can make a difference in the amount of trash that goes into our landfills. Did you know recycling is the top action society can do to simultaneously improve the environment, the economy, sustainable manufacturing, and prevent waste from entering our oceans? Despite this, recycling levels in the United States were at 32.1% in 2018—if that rate went up to 75%, it would be the environmental equivalent of taking 55 million cars from US roads each year! A 75% recycling rate among Americans would also produce about 1.5 million new jobs. All in all, recycling is an “absolute win!” Conserve our planet’s finite natural resources, conserve fresh water, protect the oceans and the forests, and reduce the use of fossil fuel energy and CO2 emissions with our simple single-stream recycling services!

What Happens to Recyclable Materials After They Leave the Curb?

Some people are especially concerned about protecting the environment, and they want to know what happens to the recyclable materials that Abe’s Trash picks up. We bring these materials to a sorting factory that separates and sorts all of the recyclable materials. These materials are then bundled together into “bales.” These bales are sent to manufacturers to use to create new products. Pretty neat.
