Commercial Recycling

Commercial Recycling Made Simple

At Abe’s Trash Service, we want to help your Omaha business take steps toward more sustainable practices. Commercial recycling services are just one way to ensure that your company does its part in conservation efforts, and with Abe’s Trash, it’s as easy as taking out the trash! Just like trash services, we’ll pick up your recycle bin curbside outside your place of business and even sort through the materials for you, so all your business recyclables can be placed together in one bin! Abe’s Trash Service offers a wide range of waste disposal and recycling solutions for your Omaha business.

Business Recycling Designed for Your Company

Our team will work with your business to assist in establishing a simple commercial recycling program that assists in meeting regulatory requirements and serves the Omaha environment. Our team knows it’s our job to make sure the trash collection and recycling help your business, rather than get in the way of your operations.

Our Commercial Recycling Container Size Options

We have several container sizes available ranging from one day to six days per week to fit your recycling needs.

Save Time. Save The Environment.

You want to help your business make a positive environmental impact, but perhaps installing solar panels and committing to meatless Mondays isn’t realistic. Commercial recycling diverts waste from being landfilled or incinerated, which conserves energy as it takes less energy to produce new products from recycled materials. It also saves natural resources that sometimes cannot be replaced.

With mixed business recycling, we’re helping you make saving the environment a little more convenient and a little less expensive. All you have to do is collect your recyclables–whether they’re plastic, aluminum, or paper–and we’ll take care of sorting them and diverting them from landfills. With our single-stream recycling, you’ll accomplish several things:

Conserve Energy

Did you know recycling just one plastic bottle can save enough energy to power a 100-watt light bulb for 4 hours? Moreover, according to the EPA, “Recycling one aluminum beverage can save enough energy to run a 14 watt CFL bulb (60 watt incandescent equivalent) for 20 hours, a computer for 3 hours, or a TV for 2 hours.”

Moreover, regarding a major business resource, paper: “Preventing 1 ton of paper waste saves between 15 and 17 mature trees.” Considering how much paper many offices go through, every week, it seems conceivable that a business might save at least several dozen trees a year, if they were to recycle paper on a regular basis.

Save Time

Our process makes commercial recycling easy and efficient–creating a time-saving solution for the number one reason 90% of Americans don’t recycle.

Reduce Waste

In just one year alone, recycling with Abe’s Trash kept 35 million pounds of material out of the landfill.

Incidentally, it’s worth considering that one major source of methane production in landfills is discarded food waste, so it would be worth your while to develop a workplace composting program, as well. If your office has access to a garden or yard space, you might even consider starting a community garden for your organization and neighboring businesses.

What Can I Recycle?

Instead of throwing recyclable materials in with your trash simply put them in a bin, place curb side on recycling collection day. You won’t have to worry about sorting them! Here are the recyclables that we do and do not accept as a part of our commercial recycling program:

Acceptable Recyclables:

  • Aluminum and Tin: Rinse containers
  • Aerosol Cans and Paint Cans: Cans must be empty for aerosol and paint recycling.
  • Paper: Paper recycling includes (but is not limited to) newspaper, magazines, brown grocery bags, telephone books, catalogs, office paper, envelopes, cereal boxes, beverage boxes, frozen food packages, and juice boxes
  • Cardboard: clean corrugated cardboard boxes or shipping boxes under the bin. Break down or cut the boxes so they are flat.
  • Plastic: Rinse out containers before plastic recycling. The bottom of the container should have a recycling symbol and a number. We accept number 1–7 plastic containers.

Non-acceptable Recyclables:

  • Rubberbands
  • Plastic Bags
  • Soiled Paper
  • Tissue Paper
  • Paper Towels
  • Wax Coated Paper
